Key Information
Best time to go: Perfect playing conditions are during the summer months (June, July, August). Next best option would be late spring (May and early June), and fall (September and October).
Airport: There are a few airports that you can fly into. Detroit Metropolitan (DTW) includes all major airlines and is a 2 hour 50 minute drive to resort. Cherry Capitol Airport (TVC) 1 hour 10 minute drive to the resort. MBS International Airport (MBS) 1 hour 19 minute drive to the resort. A small drive from any of these airports to Forest Dunes will be well worth it.

Forest Dunes Golf Course: A Tom Weiskopf design consistently featured in the better half of Golf Digest’s Top 100 public courses you can play in the country.Â
The Loop – Red: Designed by renowned architect Tom Doak, The Loop presents a captivating concept where a single course layout can be played in two different directions providing an entirely new challenge and perspective each time. The Red plays counterclockwise and is a more traditional design with starting holes that allow you to find your rhythm.
The Loop – Black: The Black course is the Red in reverse. This course plays clockwise around the same track and is a less traditional setup with a tough start and an easier finish.
The Bootlegger Short Course: A fun, strategic 10-hole short course in immaculate condition with holes spanning from 65 to 150 yards. Unwind and play fun competitions with your group here while making use of the Bootlegger Bar, which pairs with the course.
Hilltop Putting Course: A pristine 18-hole putting course set on almost 2 acres of land routed through undulating terrain. There are no tee times necessary, show up with your friends and have a putting contest before or after your dinner and drinks, or whenever you’d like.

Lake AuSable Lodge:Â Located just 35 yards from the first tee of The Forest Dunes Course. The Lodge has standard rooms that offer both king and double queen configurations as well as suites that include a sitting area, dining table, full kitchen, and private balcony overlooking the first tee.
