Key Information

Best time to go: The best time to plan your golf trip to Ireland is during the summer months (June, July, August) when the weather is generally mild and the days are longer. Spring (April and May) and fall (September and October) are also favorable, although the weather can be more unpredictable.

Airport: The closest airport is Belfast International Airport (BFS), which serves as the main gateway to the region. You can also fly into Dublin or Shannon which would leave you about a 3-hour drive to the region.

Rosapenna - Old Tom Morris: The historic Old Tom Morris course at Rosapenna is a testament to traditional links golf. With its undulating fairways, pot bunkers, and strategic layout, it showcases the timeless charm of the game.

Ballyliffin - Glashedy: Located in County Donegal, Ballyliffin Golf Club boasts two outstanding courses. Glashedy, designed by Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock, is a championship layout featuring dramatic dunes, challenging greens, and breathtaking views of the Atlantic.  As Rory McIlroy said, “Anyone planning a golf trip to the north of Ireland, the two courses at Ballyliffin are must play championship links”.

Ballyliffin - Old Links: The second course at Ballyliffin, the Old Links, offers a classic links experience. Designed by renowned golf architect Eddie Hackett, it winds its way through the dunes, providing a memorable and authentic golfing adventure.

Portsalon Golf Club: Nestled on the Fanad Peninsula between Rosapenna and Ballyliffin, Portsalon is regarded as one of Ireland's hidden gems. With its picturesque setting, undulating fairways, and stunning views of Lough Swilly, it provides an enjoyable and scenic round of golf.
