Courses You Must Play at Pinehurst
Pinehurst No.1: Donald Ross added his touch to this 6,000 yard course after Dr. Leroy Culver and John Dunn Tucker built the front and back nine respectively, in the 1890’s, making this track a great way to experience the true history at Pinehurst resort.Â
Pinehurst No. 2: “The Pounding Heart of Pinehurst Resort”, #2 is Donald Ross’s claim to fame. As one the US Open’s premier locations, #2 has held more golf championships than any other course in the United States.Â
Pinehurst No. 3: A par-68, this is the shortest course at Pinehurst. Don’t let it fool you.Â
Pinehurst No. 4: This course hosted the 2019 US Amateur just one year after it reopened from Gil Hanse’s redesign in 2018. A pristine track strongly representing Carolina’s sandhill golf.Â
Pinehurst No. 5: This course was designed in 1961 by Ellis Maples, a student of Donald Ross. You’ll experience a golf course in its natural beauty, designed casually amongst the pines.Â
Pinehurst No. 6: Designed by Tom and George Fazio, this course’s bold style is notable as it sits in the heart of Pinehurst resort.Â
Pinehurst No. 7: A unique test of a golfer’s skill with undulating terrain surrounded by wetlands.Â
Pinehurst No. 8: Tom Fazio’s design of #8 genuinely celebrates all of the special qualities that Pinehurst golf has to offer. He built the course in 1996 to celebrate the resort's 100th birthday.Â
Pinehurst No. 9: Jack Nicklaus’s design of #9 was inspired by the famous #2, his favorite course to play at the resort.Â
The Cradle: Some of the most fun you’ll have at the resort will be on this tricky 9 hole track that tests your short game with its deep bunkers and insanely challenging greens. The best part is, replays are free.Â
Thistle Dhu Putting Course:Â 18 holes of putting, no tee times required. Challenge your buddies to a putting contest or wind down after dinner with just one club and a ball.
